Olive Oil: Not Just for Cooking
Our use of olive oil dates back prior to 3500 BC. We’re most familiar with olive oil in relation to cooking, but it can often be used to avoid the use chemicals, compounds and substances that aren’t very environmentally friendly. Here are few tips you might not know:
- Coat your garden tools with a thin layer of olive oil to prevent dirt from sticking and after cleaning them in the fall to prevent rust.
- A mixture of 1 part lemon juice and 3 parts olive oil makes a wonderful furniture polish with a nice scent to boot.
- Remove paint from hair or skin by dabbing with a cotton ball dipped in olive oil.
