I am proud to be a part of CRSR's "Green Ideas" campaign! I hope we are part of a growing awareness about ways to switch over to a more sustainable lifestyle.

I am working hard to change some of my habits so that I pass along a better world for future generations. It's hard! A lot of the time I feel like I'm too busy or I am not paying attention. I have to remind myself that every little bit counts.

Here is one thing I have done: I have garbage pickup at home. I recently downsized to a smaller garbage can. There is only enough room for a few small bags every week. If I am not mindful, the garbage doesn't fit in the can by the end of the week. I have to make sure I put all paper, cardboard, plastic and metal in the recycling. I also started a compost pile to cut down on the food garbage. I have successfully cut the amount of garbage I generate in half!

The only thing is, someone keeps stealing my plastic recycling bins. I am using cardboard boxes now. Does anyone know where to get some really ugly recycling bins that no one will want?
